Does anyone know of licensed taxonomies for consumer products in the fashion, beauty, jewelry areas? We're looking at those offered by Wand, but would like to know if anyone has other suggestions.

Also, we're seeking a taxonomy for these products, of brands and companies. We're looking into the Gale Taxonomy of Brands and Companies, but again -- would like to know if anyone has had experience with other licensed vocabularies for this subject area.

      Thanks very much!

I was going to suggest that to Donna as well, but went ahead and did searches for Jewelry, Beauty and Fashion, and the only ones that came up were the WAND ones, which she said she had already looked at.

I did a few google searches as well, but wasn't finding much of anything.  I even checked the JISC lists of metadata vocabularies (referenced from the bottom of my "examples" page at http://www.controlledvocabulary.com/examples.html), but didn't find any there specific to those areas.

It isn't licensed and also doesn't list any attributes but may be a nice starting point to build one of your own to fit into your system and needs

Thanks for all the help with this search. We require a lot of detail and also attributes of the product types. Looks like we're going pursue more investigation of the WAND vocabularies. Gale also has an extensive Products and Services taxonomy (available through Taxonomy Warehouse), but you can't purchase pieces of it and we just don't need all of the 12,000+ terms.

                Best regards,
                Donna
