The main page photo is the bird house he and his family are living in right now. I've narrowed his species down to warbler. Their nest is made of twigs.
I hear others say they wish birds wouldn't sing so early in the morning, as it interrupts their sleep. It mystifies me that the sweetness of the song could be a nuisance. I think Rachel Carson's book title, Silent Spring, caused a perspectual shift for me years ago. Never again would I take for granted the songs of birds.
Similar to the drought we had here several years ago, never again would I be upset by rain. This year we've had so much that the greenness of it all is like a dream. I will remember this green.
