                              Description: William C. Davis discusses his
                              book, "Look Away!," at Books & Company in
                              Birmingham, Alabama. The book examines the
                              social, economic, and political background of the
                              South during the Civil War. Mr. Davis talks about
                              the South's decision to succeed, their
                              Constitution, and the popular arguments for the
                              origins of the Civil War. He took questions from
                              the audience following his remarks.
       
                              Author Bio: William Davis is the author of over
                              twenty books on the Civil War including "An
                              Honorable Defeat: The Last Days of the
                              Confederate Government" and "The Legacies (Civil
                              War Journal)." A Pulitzer Prize nominee and a
                              three-time winner of the Jefferson Davis Prize for
                              Confederate History, Mr. Davis is currently the
                              Director of Programs of the Center for Civil War
                              Studies.
