      Larry;

If you have Taken at the Flood, that might be of some help.

      Yr. Obt. Svt.
      G E "Gerry" Mayers

To Be A Virginian, either by birth, marriage, adoption, or even
on one's mother's side, is an introduction to any state in the
Union, a passport to any foreign country, and a benediction from
      the Almighty God. --Anonymous

According to Krick (and von Borcke and Blackford), Stuart was in
informal charge of Jackson's left flank and operating with
      Pelham's and
other artillery on Nicodemus Heights, Hauser's Ridge and points
      in
between doing a fantastic job of pummeling Union
      infantry/artillery as
well as returning to Nicodemus Heights saving it for the
      Confederates.

Has anyone seen anything more about Stuart's "assignment" or is
      the
current consensus that Jackson and Stuart talked with the result
      being
      a de facto assignment?
