It will cost $2500.00 to place this marker at the site.  We are raising the funds along with the Loudoun County CWRT in Sterling, Va. Guilford Station(present day Sterling, Va.) was the site of a signal station from which was passed the info from Hooker to the AOP to move North - that the ANV was on the march.  It was also the 1st Union Corps headquarters prior to the battle of Gettysburg.  Gen. John Reynolds's headquarters stayed in a house near the signal station.  He spent one of his last nights here.
