2252Kunstler Print Raffle!
- Jul 26, 2005The Sharpsburg Historical Society is raffling one of Mort
Kunstler's best-known prints relating to the Battle of Antietam,
the "Sharpsburg War Council." The print depicts General Lee
and his staff contemplating the coming battle, September 17, 1862.
The print was generously framed by Jim Kehoe of the Antietam Gallery
(www.antietamgallery.com or 17320 Sharpsburg Pike in Sharpsburg).
Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Antietam Gallery for $2.00
each or 3 for $5.00. If you prefer, checks can be mailed to the SHS
at POB 513, Sharpsburg, 21782, with the number of tickets desired,
the name of the buyer and the phone number.
All proceeds of the raffle will support the work of the Sharpsburg
Historical Society to preserve the history of the town, before and
after the Civil War.
The print will be awarded on September 17, 2005 during Sharpsburg
Heritage Day. The Historical Society will be putting on Heritage
Day, and as the schedule of events is finalized it will be posted
