Group Description

TWEAT is an Odd/Even scoring system for model sailboat racing of AMYA class yachts, originally developed for the March, 2009 R/C Laser regatta on Marco Island,.

TWEAT is an Excel spreadsheet system, which is compatible with Excel 2003-2010 and Mac versions 2008-2011. It contains no macros, or Visual Basic code, relieving user worries about virus contamination. It uses only simple Excel functions.

Although first developed as a TWo hEAT system, there is also a version (TWEAT ABc) that can handle up to 60 boats in a 3-heat system similar to Odd/Even. 1st, 4th, 7th etc. place finishers are grouped into heat A, 2nd, 5th, 8th, etc. are grouped into heat B and 3rd, 6th, 9th, etc finishers go into heat C. The system can automatically switch between 1, 2 and 3 heats depending on the number of active competitors and a desired maximum number of boats per heat. Special, 2-fleet (Gold-Silver) configurations are also built-in.

TWEAT Texas V1.0 has now been uploaded which expands the basic TWEAT spreadsheet to allow up to 30 races with as many as 25 boats per heat. This was done for the 2012 Victoria Frostbite Regatta (Everything is bigger in Texas) per Mark Cooper's request. TWEAT Texas also incorporates the request made by Al Stiewing for a revised way to score penalties based on the total number of boats that have entered the regatta rather than the number in a specific race.
