Welcome to one of the best wartime series on television! Tour of Duty ran from 1987 to 1990 and is now released to DVD. The series appeared shortly after "Platoon" the film, which won 4 Academy Awards in 1986. Tour of Duty was not only a exemplary war series, but a learning experience, which told the tale of young soldiers fighting a war they could not understand. Tour also evolved around many controversies during the 1960's era; including drug use, negative press, and political boundaries which in effect led to the first war Americans ever lost. Please feel free to express your views and tell us your favorite character of the series. Since the DVD's are released, lets also discuss our views on the releases! Also welcomed are any topics related to the Vietnam era, which the series evokes. Please respect each other in this forum. Your participation keeps the "Tour of Duty" alive!
