TAO-News alerts astronomers of East Tennessee to Activities at Tamke-Allan Observatory at http://www.roanestate.edu/obs
Our normal Public Stargazes are on the first and third Saturdays of each Month. We support educational and scientific research activities at Roane State Community College and work to maintain Dark Skies in East Tennessee. In addition, we facilitate the study and enjoyment of astronomy and we strive for an accurate understanding and appreciation of astronomy and related physical sciences in our community.

TAO welcomes amateur astronomers from local Astronomy clubs (ORION and SMAS)and some serve as Astronomy Volunteers at TAO. They use their knowledge and equipment to help others experience the joys of discovery and to enhance learning about the night sky and it's astronomical objects. They are volunteer hosts of the observatory, and consider themselves ambassadors on the subject of Astronomy. They recognize that only if we make Astronomy a positive and enlightening experience will people support TAO or attribute respect for maintaining a scientific and educational perspective.

TAO-News is our observatory newsletter and we invite you to join and enjoy astronomy with us. If you want to receive other information and participate in discussions, you may subscribe by sending a blank email to ORIONastronomy-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
