1) SPL Huddle!
Meet your fellow SPLs from around our District. Bring an appetite and your troop’s best ideas for camping and hiking, canoeing and backpacking. Try out some inter-patrol competitions, best ways to use EDGE in troop meetings, PLCs, and more! The event will be held on Sunday May 19th from 1-2:30pm. See attached flyer for more details.
2) 2013 Friends of Sabattis Adventure Camp: Campership Award Application
The Friends of Sabattis Adventure Camp (alumni association for Sabattis Adventure Camp) will be awarding one scholarship for the 2013 Sabattis Summer Resident Camp to a registered youth member of the Boy Scouts of America. The applicant must be active in their unit and demonstrate leadership, community service and the core values of the BSA. The campership is awarded for the use towards Sabattis Adventure Camp Resident Camp 2013. It is contingent upon the recipient living the Scout Oath and Law and remains active in his/her unit. Applications must be postmarked by May 20, 2013. See attachment for more details.
3) National Youth Leadership Training-
Give your leaders the "toolbox" they need to strengthen your troop. Register for NYLT today! The purpose of NYLT is to provide training to youth members of scout troops so that they can become the best leaders in the home troop that they can. Each year, the council holds two courses, one at the end of June and one in the middle of August. This year both the June and August courses will be week-long courses. 5) Help Wanted: Spring Cub Camporee-
The Spring Cub Camporee will be held on May 31- June 2 at Winnebago. The Camporee committee is looking for Troop and Scouts to help out for the weekend. Scouts that help will get free cabin or tent site camping, all meals provided, service hours, and the chance to get some requirements signed off. In conjunctions with the Team Eagle Foundation the Patriots’ Path Council will be offering an exciting and educational week-long program, helping young men and women ages 15-20 on August 11-17, 2013 at the Winnebago Scout Reservation.
