My take on the origin of the Jesus as Carpenter

The major opposition to the Peter and the Cephas
faction when the church was in its beginning stages,
would have been the group that followed Paul. Peter
and Paul had a major falling out in Antioch when Peter
took his stand with the circumcision party from
Jerusalem. That circumcision Party is represented by
the Gospel of Luke and its companion volume Acts. This
Acts material attempts to present Paul as a prodigal
son who eventually returned to his Jewish roots and
ways when he came back to Jerusalem prior to his
death. Paul’s many travels to major cities and
cosmopolitan areas was due to his trade, “skene.” This
word originated from Greek theater where it was used
in reference to the tent out of which the actors and
chorus of the primitive Greek theater would dress and
emerge for their performance. In Paul’s lifetime that
tent had long since become an elaborate wooden
structure and a permanent part of Greek theater. When
used in reference to trade, skene would been used to
refer to those who managed the scene/stage sets and
were involved in building and changing them to suit
the production the theater had engaged in. This was
the trade group to which Aquila and Pricilla and Paul
belonged. Every city that had a theater would hold to
major festivals a year in January and March. Paul’s
connection to the theater is also evidenced by riot
involving another theatrical trade group (the
Artisans) and the 25000 seat theater in Ephesus (Acts
19:23-41). Antioch where Paul made his base of
operations and where the people of the Way first came
to be known as Christians was home to a 14000 seat
theater. It was Paul’s work as a skene that provided
him the opportunity to travel and gave rise to the
carpenter association writing and after the Gospel
traditions. In the Q material which actually belonged
to the period when John that Baptist was believed to
be Christ and the material prior to the fall of
Jerusalem and the Gospels , Paul’s letters James and
so on do not have a reference to Jesus as carpenter as
one would expect during the lifetime of the one would
      be regarded messiah after John.
