NOTE: Please also see StopSmartMetersIrvine.com and StopOCSmartMeters.org

This site was set up as a resource for those concerned about Edison's installment of "Smart" Meters. We believe citizens should have the right to opt out of this program and we insist, as biophysicist Dr. Martin Blank, advocates, that "new devices" which can harm our health, the environment and future generations should not be "allowed to pass into general usage" without first testing their health and environmental impact.

1. “Do not believe for a second that mobile phones, and wireless internet, smart meters and so on are safe—because they’re not. They interfere with normal brain function, learning and memory, fertility, cancer risks and have been shown to shatter the DNA in cells. All of these can be found in peer reviewed scientific journals but until now has not been in the public domain. You can find it. You can read it. You can assess the data yourself. . . ." -Olle Johansson, PhD, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm.

2. "People must realize that even though they cannot see it or feel it—that it’s having its effect and that these effects are cumulative, many are slow acting, and that you really can't beat it. .." Martin Blank, PhD, Associate Professor, Columbia University, Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics.

3. "Let me point out the very last line there—that cells react to EMF as potentially harmful and that’s the message that we get from cells so there’s no question about it." Dr. Blank

4. "I’m very very happy if this turns out to be false but that would also mean that thousands and thousands of publications for decades at the same time all would have to be wrong—and that has never ever happened in science before." -Olle Johansson
