709Re: [Stonehaven_Genealogy] Re: Reith & Paterson Ancestors
- Dec 31, 2001Hi Doug,
Some of the Strathdee genealogy was done by a cousin and perhaps he thought
Isobel's name to be Falconer because of it being carried in two of her
son's names. I have noted the Anderson and will continue to look further.
Yes, Duthie was a middle name, William Duthie Strathdee son of Alexander
Strathdee and Jean/Jane Duthie.
I have 12 children for Wm and Ann (Reith) Strathdee
Margaret; Ellen; Wm; Isabel; David Falconer; James Falconer; Stewart;
Alexander; Arthur; George; Jane Ann and Jessie. No birth dates for the
first three, Isobel born Oct 1855. So I wonder, were the first ones from
Thanks Doug, for the info. Will appreciate anything further you may find.
Is it possible your Ann REITH was born 6 Oct 1833 in Garvock,
Kincardine, Scotland, instead of 1835? If so, then her parents could
be David REITH who married Isobel ANDERSON (not FALCONER) on 15 May
1831, ALSO in Garvock. I couldn't find any other offspring of theirs.
I found a birth record for a William STRATHDEE, born 22 May 1835, to
a William STRATHDEE and a Janet GRANT. (could Duthie be a middle name?)
Also, I found a Marriage record for an Ann REITH to William STRATHDEE, 10 Feb
1855, in Fordoun, Kincardine, Scotland. Records show 9 children: Isabel
Falconer Strathdee [could this be where the FALCONER came from?], David, James
Falconer (!), Stewart, Alexander, Arthur, George, Jane Ann, Jessie.
All these from poking around the LDS website.
I'll look further into David Reith's connectons/background.
