Re: People who leave and do not attack
- Greetings, Anami.
I was struck by one poignant section of your posting, where your
"I cannot wait for you, my friend.
I cannot come with you, my friend.
My inner call is beckoning me, I must go on and on,
Knowing that only a few are meant to reach the final goal."
Your poem reminded me of one of Sri Chinmoy's poems, from My Flute:
There Was A Time
There was a time when I stumbled and stumbled,
But now I only climb and climb beyond
And far beyond my Goal's endless Beyond,
And yet my Captain commands: "Go on, go on!"
and, the translation to the song Hiya Pakhi:
O bird of my heart,
Fly on, fly on.
Look not behind.
Whatever the world gives
Is meaningless, useless, and utterly false.
However painful, you have done the right thing by going on.

> Today I want to share with you these words:
> A friend lost
> I came to know today
> That one friend has lost
> In this battlefield of light against darkness
> That one friend gave up
> In this inner tug of war
> And is caught in the claws
> Of worldly desire-arena again.
> That made me cry sad heart-tears
> That made me ask myself
> Why? Why? Why?
> Why was I not able to inspire you more?
> Why was I not able to strengthen you more?
> Why was I not able to care for you more ?
> Why was I not able to carry you on my shoulders for a while?
> Again I ask
> Why have you not tried once more?
> Why have you lost hope in light again?
> Why have you felt so helplessly weak?
> Why have you not fought this temptation-tiger?
> One lost friend more to leave behind.
> I cannot wait for you, my friend.
> I cannot come with you, my friend.
> My inner call is beckoning me I must go on and on,
> Knowing that only a few are meant to reach the final goal.
> Nevertheless, thank you for the shared path-time,
> Travelling together side by side and step by step.
> I lost a friend;
> But you will never be a lost friend
> Because in our Master's loving heart
> You are there forever and eternity.
> One day you may take up the challenge again
> To run and fly on this sunlit path
> Towards your soul's inmost destiny.
