Thoughts on Photography
- Recently, I have become more interested in photography. It is fun to graduate from a simple point and shoot to understanding all those seemingly impenetrable markings like AV, TV, P e.t.c.
When you get the photography bug, you find you become a fascinated observer of the weather and sky. A scene can change dramatically depending on the quality and type of light. It makes you realise there are so many different ways of looking at the same thing.
One of the best times to take photos it at sunset and sunrise. It is a time when nature is changing, there is a beautiful light and often very peaceful. This is also a time which is said to be very conducive to meditation
I also find myself looking out for different angles and shooting points of where you live. Instead of just looking at the ground in front, you are looking for unique vistas and interesting angles. Everything becomes a potential for a photo. In the mundane you are looking for the extraordinary.
Sometimes photography also seems like a weight. Nature can be so beautiful, you just want to enjoy the moment and not worry about capturing eternity in a single click of the camera
When I took my camera to a recent Songs of the Soul concert, I managed one photo right at the start, and one photo right at the end. I was enjoying the music so much I didn't want to be trying to take photos!
