- GROWING CONSTANTLY
My dearest Lord,
Flowers are growing and growing.
Please, tell me,
Why are *my* flowers not growing?
Your flowers *are* growing
But not constantly."
My dear Lord,
Is it because sometimes
The sky is overcast with clouds
And the sun cannot shine on them?
"No, no, no!"
Is it because the soil was not fertile
The day the seed was sown
And roots were unable to develop?
"No, no, no, no!"
Then, please, my Lord,
Tell me how my flowers can grow
I am tired of their wriggly shapes.
"My sweetest child,
There is only one reason
Why your flowers are not growing
You are half asleep
I don't want to wake up.
Once I am fully awake
The animal world frightens me.
"Not true, my child!
It is the other way around.
Face the world constantly
And see what will happen-
Tigers will turn into fuzzy cats,
Lions will turn into faithful dogs,
The cockcrow will turn into a nightingale's
There is no animal that can frighten you.
Yesterday You surprised me
With a funny looking cricket sitting quietly
On the steering wheel of my bike
While I was watering the flowers.
It's spiritual meaning is
Ah, and the brimstone butterflies
Were so charmingly dancing
Around my head-
They triggered a smile.
