Group Description

A total of twenty-four Apollo astronauts traveled to the Moon between December of 1968 and December of 1972. Only twelve of those twenty-four actually stepped onto the lunar surface. The Apollo scientific expeditions on the lunar surface were woefully short in both duration and depth. We barely scratched the surface of an entire world. The Moon still holds many secrets and treasures. Apollo was a very modest beginning for our journey to the stars. The potential rewards to be gained by returning to the Moon and then moving on to other worlds are incalculable.

The Space Exploration Advocacy Group is dedicated to promotion of a robust program of peaceful space exploration for the benefit of humanity. The SpaceADG definition of space exploration includes space science activities as well as sending human explorers into the space environment. Most space explorers never actually leave the ground. Most space science work today is conducted on the ground in labs and observatories. Join us and learn about space exploration science, history and current events.

SpaceADG is a family/student friendly forum. Members are expected to treat each other with mutual respect. The use of words or phrases that the moderator considers to be inappropriate for a grade school classroom environment are prohibited.

The "nickname" for the Space Advocacy Group is SpaceADG. SpaceADG was founded on September 19, 2002 by space exploration advocate and journalist Jim McDade.

SpaceADG welcomes your critical review of any space matter, including national space policy.

Lecture presentations covering space topics are available. If you would like me to talk about space exploration issues for your group or school, or if you want to support the activities of SpaceADG, please contact me at moonshot@uab.edu. Donations of any type for the SpaceADG educational program are appreciated. Thanks, Jim McDad
