Gosho for the day
- Therefore, we know that the prayers offered by a practitioner of the Lotus Sutra will be answered just as an echo answers a sound, as a shadow follows a form, as the reflection of the moon appears in clear water, as a mirror collects dewdrops, as a magnet attracts iron, as amber attracts particles of dust, or as a clear mirror reflects the color of an object.

Subject: [SGI] RE: Gongyo: Why 2nd and 16th chapters?
Those two sections highlight the two most important teachings of the Lotus Sutra, the 2nd chapter refers to the skillful means used by the Buddha to teach the Dharma and the universality of Buddhahood, and 16 teaches the eternity of Buddhahood.

Can someone help me understand why gongyo involves recitation of the 2nd and 16th chapters of the lotus sutra? I 've heard about other chapters also being recited but any specific reason for these two chapters?
