      Hello All:

Two male STRIPED SADDLEBAGS were at one of the ASU Research Park urban
ponds (Tempe, Maricopa Co., AZ) earlier today, possibly representing a
new late flight record date for the species for the state.

Interestingly, and contrary to the past couple of years, the species
has apparently been almost completely absent (at least unreported) in
AZ and CA this year. Could unusually warm temperatures (high of 87 F
today here in Phoenix) have to do with this late occurrence?

      Pierre Deviche, Phoenix, AZ.
