Gordon Warrick the biologist at Bitter Lake National
Wildlife Refuge, Chaves County, New Mexico took a
      Prince Baskettail (Epitheca (Epicordulia) princeps)
from Unit 3 on the Bitter Lake Refuge today. At first
the specimen, a male, looks much like the female of
Libellula pulchella female until taking a closer look.

Judy Fieth and Mike Male of Blue Earth Films (National
Geographic, NOVA, etc.) made photographs of the live
specimen in Gordon's office which will be sent to
Abbott and Paulson for confirmation. Once confirmed
this will be a new state record for New Mexico.
