      Yesterday (10/06) my wife visited Parker Canyon Lake and then Scotia Canyon, both in Cochise Co., AZ. The best finds were a male STRAIGHT-TIPPED RINGTAIL (Erpetogomphus elaps, 3rd US record) and a male CERULEAN DANCER (Argia anceps, 5th US record) at the latter location. Details as follows:

       

      Parker Canyon Lake (lake and pond below dam; 9 AM – 11:30 AM; clear and sunny; a bit breezy) -  20 species seen:

       

      • Common Green Darner, Anax junius: 5
      • Blue-eyed Darner, Rhionaeschna multicolor: 4; females ovipositing
      • Widow Skimmer, Libellula luctuosa: abundant
      • Flame Skimmer, Libellula saturata: 2 males
      • Mexican Amberwing, Perithemis intensa: common
      • Spot-winged Meadowhawk, Sympetrum signiferum: 15
      • Variegated Meadowhawk, Sympetrum corruptum: 10
      • Blue Dasher, Pachydiplax longipennis: 1 male
      • Western Pondhawk, Erythemis collocata: 3
      • Springwater Dancer, Argia plana: 3
      • Dusky Dancer, Argia translata: 5
      • Blue-ringed Dancer, Argia sedula: 1 male
      • Familiar Bluet, Enallagma civile: abundant
      • Arroyo Bluet, Enallagma praevarum: common
      • Double-striped Bluet, Enallagma basidens: abundant
      • Painted Damsel, Hesperagrion heterodoxum: 1
      • Pacific Forktail, Ischnura cervula: 20
      • Mexican Forktail, Ischnura demorsa: 10
      • Desert Firetail, Telebasis salva: 20
      • Great Spreadwing, Archilestes grandis: 2 males
