Lasley, Martin Reid, and I visited the Hassayampa River
(Maricopa Co., AZ) at the Nature Conservancy Preserve near Wickenburg and the
nearby roadside rest area. The weather started cloudy and very humid but gradually
The best observation was of
a male Giant Darner PERCHED –
something that none of us had ever seen – in the open at eye level for 15 min,
giving plenty of opportunity for close-up, unobstructed photography.
