On Friday, 8/17, thanks to Tony Godfrey's post last October, Deva and I found the Dashed Ringtails above and below the bridge over the Mimbres River in Grant Co., NM on Royal John Mine Road off Highway 61. We observed three males and three females, the latter all ovipositing.
Other ode species at the site:
Great Spreadwing--1 female
Blue-eyed Darner--2 males
Flame Skimmer--4 males, 1 female
On Sunday, 8/19, on the way home to Phoenix, we stopped, midday, at the Eagle Creek site in Greenlee Co., AZ and, following Doug Danforth's excellent directions found the Desert Shadowdamsel "colony" which he and Rich discovered recently. We spent an hour and a half and saw three males and three females, one pair in wheel. Thanks again Doug.
