I visited a pond with Rich Bailowitz just 7 miles NE of San Manuel and in the San Pedro River Valley. I really wanted to see this pond because just a week and a half earlier Rich had discovered the first Pinal County records for Claw-tipped Bluet, Turquoise-tipped Darner and Mayan Setwing. Besides the large pond is a deep spring-fed pool and some wooded seeps so it really has a variety of habitats. The Turquoise-tipped Darner is the first reported for Arizona this year I think. The season is definitely winding down but we still managed to see 24 species for the day with 22 at this pond.

      American Rubyspot-3  1       Common Green Darner-1
      California Spreadwing-4        Arroyo Darner-1                    Great Spreadwing-20             Black Setwing-10
      Spine-tipped Dancer-2           Western Pondhawk-1
      Aztec Dancer-3                       Flame Skimmer-20
      Kiowa Dancer-3                      Roseate Skimmer-1
      Blue-ringed Dancer-6              Mexican Amberwing-10
      Amethyst Dancer-5                 Variegated Meadowhawk-15
      Arroyo Bluet-100's
      Familiar Bluet-20                  Blue-eyed Darner(probable non netted)
      Citrine Forktail-12
      Mexican Forktail-8
      Rambur's Forktail-2
      Desert Firetail-100's

At the almost dry San Pedro River we added Pale-faced Clubtail and Filigree Skimmer.
