      My wife and I spent this morning (08/04) at Boyce Thompson Arboretum
      (Pinal Co., AZ; 93 F, calm, more clouds than sun; 8:30 AM – 12:30
      PM), starting with Ayer Lake and then following Queen Creek upstream for
      ~0.75 mi, and found 28 species:



      1. Red-tailed Pennant, Brachymesia furcata: 1 male
      2. Pale-faced Clubskimmer, Brechmorhoga mendax: 1
      3. Western Pondhawk, Erythemis collocata: 1 male
      4. Neon Skimmer, Libellula croceipennis: 2 males along creek
      5. Flame Skimmer, Libellula saturata: common
      6. Straw-colored Sylph, Macrothemis inacuta: 3+ at lake; 1 along
      creek
      7. Roseate Skimmer, Orthemis ferruginea: 1
      8. Blue Dasher, Pachydiplax longipennis: common
      9. Spot-winged Glider, Pantala hymenaea: 3
      10. Mexican Amberwing, Perithemis intensa: 4
      11. Filigree Skimmer, Pseudoleon superbus: 1
      12. Black Saddlebags, Tramea lacerata: 6
      13. Common Green Darner, Anax junius: 5
      14. Giant Darner, Anax walsinghami: 4, lake and creek
      15. Blue-eyed Darner, Rhionaeschna multicolor: 5
      16. Great Spreadwing, Archilestes grandis: 12 along creek
      17. Lavender Dancer, Argia hinei: 3 along creek
      18. Kiowa Dancer, Argia immunda: 2 males along creek
      19. Sooty Dancer, Argia lugens: 1 male along creek
      20. Aztec Dancer, Argia nahuana: 2 males along creek
      21. Amethyst Dancer, Argia pallens: 5 along creek
      22. Springwater Dancer, Argia plana: 1 male along creek
