What I did on Memorial Day weekend:
First of all I grabbed up John Lustig of Last Kiss Comics and we went to
      the Olympia Comic Book Festival.
Well, actually John grabbed me up. But first there was a show put on at
a theatre in Olympia before the comic con.
They had an interview with Paul Chadwick! I filmed it. And an interview
with the Thompson guy that did the book "Blankets". And they had some
funny skits and a couple of slide shows. During one slide show of some
of their favorite comic artists and book covers they all of a sudden
showed the covers to Slam Bang #1 and #4. I almost fell out of my seat!
They told the crowd to pick up these books at the show. And it worked.
At the con my table was getting tons more attention than usual and I
sold some books which is always good. John did well at his table also
and the highlight of the evening was that Steve Willis came over and
introduced himself to me. He is one of my small press comic idols! And I
knew he may show up so I had him sign a few Morty Dog books that were
put out in the 80's. I got some photos I'll post later. Then we went to
The Danger Room Comic store that put on the convention. A long line were
getting their "Blankets" books signed by Thompson. The store took a
bunch of my Slam Bang's on consignment and get this, they don't take a
commission! Then let's see, oh, yeah on Monday, I saw Star Wars III and
it was pretty good. Now I've seen them all. This tied into the others
very well at the end. Maybe this movie will make some money for poor G.
Lucas. He could use some more money I bet....:-)
And I worked like a dog on my www.allenfreeman.us and finally got it
done. I was tired of the one that was up there. It was done in frames
and they are unpredictable on smaller monitors. Anyway...there you go.
