      Title; Meet Sherlock Holmes!

      Story Fourteen.

      By; Joseph F.Mazzaferro.

      1.
At the institution for one full year working only with the one patient finding herself getting
Emotionally attached. Professor Jane Moriarty a doctor of psychiatry who specializes in
delusional patients. The discipline that treats the mind is faced with a dilemma.
      2.
When a delusional patient who thinks he is Sherlock Holmes thinks she is his worst enemy
and nemesis. Things can become very interesting as Jane soon discovers, challenging her
skills to try and save him from his delusion when she starts falling in love with him!
Jane wondering if there was a rainbow at the end of her quest or quicksand waiting?

      3.
Be innovative, when the introduction of something new is needed. Not all scars are visible to
The naked eye. Under hypnosis, having mental flashbacks of horrorable events watching little
pieces of your life flash by you. The things you would rather forget, as they fade in and out
      like nightmares.
      4.
In a Sanitarium a patient has to come out of the darkness into the light to separate illusion
      from reality!
Sometimes a patient living under a delusion can be very creative, not only does he assumes the
name of the character but also the traits, dress mannerisms and habits.

The Truth can be a pain full thing! Under hypnosis, John Doe saw himself with his family on
The ground floor of the World Trade Center towers.

As the crushing panic of the crowds pushing in two separate directions. Families being torn
apart shoved and crushed Uncontrollable chaos, this was as far as his mind would allow him
      to go before shutting down.

Even under hypnosis. The unfathomable deep pain of a parent losing his mate and siblings
Was too much for him to handle, what cause and effect teaches us?

When a New Yorker is traumatized, when his only link
to reality was severed. When you find yourself having more questions than answers you
become very insecure, like a seaman in uncharted waters after several bouts of seasickness.
      5.
From the notes of the head doctor and teacher-professor, Jane
Moriarty. Reality, actuality, factuality, empirical or demonstrable or objective existence, the
here and now, historicity my patients mind is in a delicate fragile state.
      6.
His only link to reality is severed when his family was killed during the attack on the twin
Towers. And, as a derelict in the street lifted his wallet with his identification. Giving a new
meaning to the phrase Identity theft.
      7.
His mind closed down; he could not deal with it he found himself wondering the streets with
no identification on him no identity, so he choices one of his own.
      8.
The Strangest thing I have ever been held in my life at the asylum was not the twelve
Napoleons, nor the six Nixon's. But our newest member as he appeared to the group therapy
session walking in wearing P.J's with a deerstalker and a cape long faced thin bones with a
pipe dangling down out of his mouth.
      9.
He could not deal with reality after that, he was found wondering the streets with no
identification on him. For some strange reason he assumed the identity of Sherlock Holmes
      of 221 b baker street.
      10.
The strangest thing I have ever been held in my life working at the asylum here in Brooklyn
      was this John Doe.
      11.
This impressive figure introduced himself as Sherlock Holmes, one of the therapist described
Him as a John Doe of lower Manhattan. At the asylum the doctors believed that his choice of
Sherlock Holmes was made because he was searching for the truth!
      12.
At one of the therapy sessions he claimed to be there to rescue Doctor John H Watson another
patient who was comatose from the clutches of the evil Professor Moriarty. The fact that the
head of the institution was a young Doctor her name Jane Moriarty! This played right into
      patient Holmes fantasy.
      13.
He introduced himself to the group as Sherlock Holmes, as one of the therapists described him
as John Doe who was found wondering around in the streets of New York near the twin
towers after the attack took place.
      14.
At one of the therapy sessions he claimed to be here to rescue a doctor John H Watson,
Another one of the comatose patient from the evil clutch's of a female named Moriarty.
      15.
But our newest member as he appeared to the group therapy walking in wearing a deer stalker
and a cape long face and nose with a bent pipe hanging out of his mouth asking for a light.
      16.
A funny and sad thing about this man was the truth that his blood tests showed that the patient
had a problem with narcotics abuse of an opiate. With red tearful eyes Jane Moriarty listen to
her patient tales of just what took place. She saw with her minds the horror able chain of
events that unfolded before her eyes on T.V. that Sept eleventh, the two planes crashing into
the Twin Towers in lower Manhattan.

That Day that is burned into the memories of so many New Yorkers of flaming debris of death
That fell to the ground like the sparks of a roman candle.
      17.
Doctor Jane Moriarty found herself taking John Doe on field trip down to the old twin
      towers sight.
      18.
Jane's fiery red hair matched her temper, you learned one thing never to cross her or you
      would face the consequences.
      19
This beautiful doctor Jane Moriarty in the light of day this fine looking foxy red head with
the high I.Q. and low cut red dress that drove men crazy showing off her assets as she hopped
Into her Red Ferrari with this tall thin distinguished looking gentlemen wearing a red and
Gray deer stalker cap heading into lower Manhattan.
      20.
The custom plate on the Ferrari marked psych, as the fast Ferrari shifted gears with the roar
of a lion, her red hair whipping around as the convertible Ferrari reached 150 miles an hour.
Doing all this to try and restore the memory of John Doe.
      21.
The pain showed on his face sometimes you shake out the cob web and other's you choke on
the dust in the air you breathe!
      22.
Jane audio recording of the sessions with the patient as she pointed out these
Reflections on his realities. The mind is a wonderful instrument when faced with the horrors
that it cannot face it shuts down.
      23.
Total amnesia this is from the defense mechanism, in John Does Case the patient
assumed the identity of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle character of Sherlock Holmes.
      24.
The Secret in dealing with delusional patients is they have to be the ones who starts facing the
reality so move slowly. Make sure you don't cause them to remember things before the mind
is ready to deal with them. This would cause a delusional break from reality.
      25.
The patient watching a rather large man mopping and sweeping the ward wearing janitorial
cloths with the letter M whispers something to him Mycroft save Watson he is down the hall as
The janitor give the patient a cockeyed look!
      26.
When Professor Jane Moriarty took Sherlock Holmes to the governor's office with her,
leading him to wonder just what type of new intrigue she was getting him involved in. It had
been thirteen months since he was found.
      27.
Getting John Doe ready for his trip to the governor's office the attendants wrist watch feel into
the bath tub and stopped working. It was upon this day one of the dreariest dismal
bleaker days here in New York City, the rain drops falling as big as snow balls assaulting the
Individuals who were trudging their way down the street going in to work.
      28.
It was Jane's idea of using the governor's office as a new resource to find out just who the
Hell John Does really was? Jane's response to her staff was when the governor of the State of
New York requires your help you can make any demands you wish, write your own ticket!
This allowed Jane to bring her favorite patient Sherlock Holmes with her into the governor's
office 67the Street at the avenue of the America's on the 16th Floor. They arrived by
      Ambulance at the governor's office!
      29.
Dealing with the chain of events that precedes a crisis can create panic, as the plot thickens at
The governor's office. At 10 o'clock at night Holmes looked at his attendant and said Lestrade
You know that logic teaches us that even a stopped pocket watch is correct at least twice a day,
Is it time for my medicine? As Doctor Jane Moriarty and her patient attended this high level
Security meeting held by Homeland Security about Home grown terrorists. In the meeting
Room as professor Moriarty arrived along with her star patient and an attendant. Patient
Sherlock Holmes as he stared at both homeland security along with the governor looking into
The governor's eyes, breaking the ice of tension.
      30.
"It was Regent Street one of the west ends busiest thorough fares, I believe was the last time
We had our run in Colonel Sebastian Moran"!
The governor had an unusual beaming smile on his face he found it to be totally amusing.
However the business at hand demanded his full attention it was too pressing a matter to allow
Him to be side tracked. He asked that Doctor Moriarty to have her attendant wait in the outer
      Office with the patient.
      31.
That's when a bomb maker tossed a monkey wrench into Jane's plan!
He Holmes started acting strangely when you are labeled as a lunatic the people around you
tends to ignore you when you are carrying on about something that's upset you. Even as
important as someone planting a bomb. Your actions are labeled as the ravings of a lunatic
Or mad man crying wolf! The only people who will listen to you are your attendants and the
Therapists who are taking care of you. So when the patient Sherlock Holmes saw someone
Planting a briefcase in the closet at the governor's office loaded with plastic explosives he
      Becomes the teacher.
      32.
The trick is to get them to pay attention to you! When they do and discover the briefcase now
you have earned their attention and respect so the next time you speak they will listen!
      33.
In the fantasy world of patient Sherlock Holmes, the cast of characters in John Does delusion
include an attendant he calls inspector Lestrade. In the active imagination of patient Holmes
All the characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle play a role.
      34.
One of the attendants who watches patient Holmes is seen by John Doe as inspector Lestrade.
It is he who Holmes turns to, to tell about the suspicious briefcase in the closet. It is this
attendant's job to see to it that the patient doesn't get violent.
      35.
So he humors him checking out the briefcase, that is when he discovers the explosive device!
      36.
As patient Holmes displays an I told you so smirk on his face. As the bomb squad arrives
and defuses it, the attendant becomes embarrassed when he has to tell them it was discovered
by the ravings of a mental patient.
      37.
Patient Holmes told his attendant so tell me now Lestrade who is the crazy one ? You or I,
as his attendant was sitting close by scratching his head?
      38.
Upon his return from the governor's office, Holmes spent his time with the comatose patient
      discussing about what took place.
      39.
When the comatose patient awoke he also displayed all the signs of amnesia, with forceful
arguments Holmes convinced him that he was Doctor John H. Watson!
      40.
Both Holmes and Watson became an inseparable pair.
