Dr. Zoltan Mesko (born in Kosice, Eastern Slovakia) graduated from the
Medical School of the I.A.Commenius University of Bratislava in 1952. After
serving at the Pediatrics at the Children¹s Hospital in Kosice, he was
appointed Physician in Chief of the Children¹s Heart Institute in Sliac,
Central Slovakia. Until the invasion of the Warsaw Pact¹s armies in August
1968 he served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Card) at the
Childen¹s Hospital in Bratislava.
He was awarded by the Alexander Humboldt Stipend in West Germany in that
dramatic year. After having been invited to the Children¹s Hospital in
Boston of the Harvard Medical School in 1969, he and his family decided to
emigrate. He worked then at the children¹s hospitals in Buffalo, Brooklyn,
NY, Roslyn, NY. In the early 90-ies he was appointed Director of the Cardiac
Catheterisation Laboratory for Children and an Associate Professor of
Clinical Pediatrics (Card) at State University of New York. He retired in
Dr. Mesko has been active active for many years at the Slovak-American
Cultural Center. After revolution in November 1989, he initiated the
establishment of the ³Heart to Heart Foundation² for the children ailing
with heart disease in Slovakia. The Fund generated about 100.000 US dollars.
After an extensive research in archives and collection of data, Dr. Mesko
wrote the book ³The Conspiracy² and published it first in 1999 and second
edition in 2000. The book turned out to be a bestseller. Besides the
American version, the German translation should see its publication this
Dr. Mesko lives now mostly in southern France.
