Well aged cheese
- An article by three geneticists from University College London said tree years ago that the gene that enables people to digest cow's milk through adulthood appeared in and spread from modern south-western Slovakia and north-western Hungary around 5500 B.C.E.
Now there's another report on husbandry in Central Europe, north of Slovakia this time around, at about the same time -- likely evidence of the oldest cheese making in the world:

About 400 year-old Slovak bryndza is a complete newcomer by comparison:
... but the recent find and genetics suggest that cow cheese (rather than more recent sheep or goat cheese) has been around in Central Europe for 7.5 thousand years.
