The Canoandes 79 expedition of students from Kraków managed to navigate the restrictive communist regime of Poland to start a river running expedition to the Andes, an expedition that took them through North, Central and South America as they adventured their way from country to country and river to river, and ran many virgin rivers in Andes, including Peruvian Colca River running through the deepest in the world. They ran the headwaters of the Amazon, worked in Wyoming, and charmed and earned letters of recommendation and commendation from many American governments in their multi-year pursuit of running rivers in America.
