      Hi all,

What a wonderful story and somewhat similar to how I found my relatives in
      Slovakia.

One suggestion for anyone who knows the name of the town, if it is small town,
write a letter to the mayor asking if there are still people living in the town
with the names you are researching. (On CGSI there is a form letter for this.) I
wrote to the town of Circ's mayor. He did not answer, but gave the letter to one
of my relatives who passed the letter on to another relative. He wrote to me. I
do not speak, read or write Slovak so I had the letter translated. I have been
      writing to him ever since.

Another suggestion is to take a trip with Helene Cincebeaux. She will arrange a
day trip with a translator and a car to take you to the town and visit the
relatives you have found. I have traveled with Helene 4 times starting in 1997
and met the relatives on both Mother's and Father's side. I also got to see a
      lot of Slovakia.

Once you find your relatives keep writing to them. Helene had a translator and
all our letters go through him. I send them to him by e-mail, he translates them
and mails them to the relatives. Then my relatives send him a letter, Martin
translates it and e-mails it to me.

Don't wait too long. A number of the people I met on my trips has passed away.

      Love,
      Helen Ruatti
