- To me this was never a problem. Both my father's parents were born in
Slovakia while my mother's father was Pa. Dutch (Swiss-Germans who came to
Pa. in 1742) and her mother was Irish (both her parents were born in
Ireland). My surname is SLOVAK, need I say more ? The British Royal family
had a German name --- Sax-Coburg-Gotha. During WWI this became politically
incorrect so they Anglicized it to Windsor.
