      It's all about food and, while this simple recipe isn't particularly Slovak, figs are in season and this is simple and wonderful. Try it.

      Take some fresh figs, slit them and put into them a small piece of blue cheese (Maytag Blue is great, but whatever). Wrap each with a strip of prosciutto (or any thinly sliced, salty ham) and fix with a toothpick. On each fig, put a little bit of balsamic vinegar. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes. Serve hot.

      This is a great appetizer.
