Invitation to Slovak visa roundtable
- SLOVAK VISA WAIVER ROUNDTABLE IN PITTSBURGH

When President Bush visited Slovakia in February, one of the
questions asked by the Slovaks was the possible waiver of visas for
Slovaks visiting the United States. This is a frequent problem for
Americans who want to bring their relatives from Slovakia for a
Slovak Honorary Consul, Joseph Senko, has arranged for a roundtable
in Pittsburgh to discuss the subject of visa waivers for Slovaks. The
roundtable will consist of the following panelists:
----- A U.S. Congressman who will explain the present law regarding
visas and the criteria necessary for changing the law;
----- Pavol Hrusovsky, Chairman of Slovak Parliament, who will
express the views of Slovakia;
----- Rastislav Kacer, Slovak Ambassador to the United States, who
has been confronted with the problem by people from both Slovakia and
the United States;
----- John Goodish, executive vice president of U.S. Steel and former
president of U.S. Steel-Kosice, which brings workers from Kosice to
their U.S. plants. Goodish spent four years in Slovakia and also
understands the issue from both sides.
Each of the panelists will speak on the subject followed by questions
from the media. The audience also will be invited to participate.
The public is invited to this free event. Slovak Americans are
