Slovak Studies Program, University of Pittsburgh:

Janosik (English subtitles; duration: 1h 30')

      Sunday, April 17, 2 PM
1501 Posvar Hall (next to Hillman Library)

Easiest parking: Soldiers and Sailors on Bigelow 1/2 block N of 5th

In Slovakia's distant past, a group of highwaymen led by legendary
Janosik built their hard-to-reach hideout high up on the steep slopes
of a craggy valley. They are boisterous defenders of the Kingdom's
subjets against the injustices of the feudal overlords. But could
there be a traitor among them? Made in 1963, Janosik ranks among the
biggest domestic blockbusters that the film studios in Bratislava
      have produced.

There will be a brief introduction and handouts.
