      "As the pay, so the work." [author]

      and

      "Aka praca, taka placa."
      "As the work, so the pay." [author]

      For the English equivalent, I propose the English translation of a
      Soviet-era Russian (and, I'm sure, Slovak, Romanian, Polish,
      Hungarian,
      etc) saying:

      "They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work."
