      To  Nick,
Hello.  I know I have family in Australia (Lacsni).  I one time spoke to them via email.  I wish I had his email or phone number.  If I remember right his name was Michael Lacsni.  I did email family in Spisska Nova Ves, and sent out a letter as they sent one to me, but never received anything back.  I would love to get in touch again.  I need to try sending out another letter.   It was such a thrill to hear from them.   One of my distant cousins looked up the geneology records of our family.  I was so happy to hear from them.

Isn't it nice to learn about your past relatives and find out what they are doing now.

      Have a great day!
      Donna

This may not be exactly an example of what you are looking for but,

      >My family came to Australia but not directly, We left Slovakia in
      >1948 when the communists took over then we lived in Germanay and the
      >UK before coming to Australia, We came by ship, we came as British
      >subjects as my father had been the the Czechoslvak brigade part of
      >British army.

Without being able to supply details I was told that the was a very
successful furrier who came from Slovakia who lived in Tasmania and
i am sure there were others.
