Can't wait to receive it and put it on the coffee table for all to read!  Thanks!

The Spring issue of Slovakia features Slovak World contributor  Julie Michutka and her super article "Slovak Language Texts for Independent Learners" which compares a number of books and audio/book combinations.

Sylvia Chai turned the spotlight on Iris Szeghy of Presov who has become a world-reknowned contemporary composer. Ginny Parobek did a book review on "Slovak Songs in Latin, Slovak and English" which told of an intriguing saga behind this songbook, replete with scenes of smuggling and hiding manuscripts during the communist era.

Something special was provided by Bruce Dale, a National Georgraphic photographer for the past 30 years who worked in 75 countries. A member of the Slovak Heritage Society International that publlishes Slovakia, he contributed a colorful photo essay "Slovak Homecoming" which illustrated searching for his Snahican roots in Teplicka nad Vahom and Sneznica in northern Slovakia. The pictures were gorgeous!

The cover featured a charming watercolor - A Goral Dance - by MARY

It was a celebration issue - the 90th issue of "Slovakia" produced over the past 23 years. If you would like a copy contact Helene directly at helenezx@aol. com.
