Sr Project Manager/Principal Archeologist

Minimum MA or MS degree in Anthropology/Archaeology required
Minimum 15 years of CRM experience required, minimum 10 years in a supervisory role, and 5 years experience in business development and client management
Must have RPA certification, or ability to obtain soon after accepting employment with URS
Must have archaeological field skills, extensive analysis skills, management skills, project management skills, client relations, and business development experience
Demonstrated ability to write reports in PC environment (MS Word), as well as have an understanding of databases (MS Excel)and GIS. Writing sample will be required
Project Manager/Principal Investigator experience required. Must be able to work well with a variety of staff at different levels, as well as be able to mentor and guide junior staff, and maintain excellent client relations
Must have strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills, and demonstrated background in logistics coordination.
Must have a thorough understanding of Section 106 and other cultural regulations
Must have successful record of archaeological marketing and client development
Will think strategically and will complete projects on-time and on-budget to the clients satisfaction
Must be able to travel extensively, if required
Mid-Atlantic and/or east coast regional work experience required
As the Sr Project Manager/Principal Archeologist, you will supervise junior and mid-level technical staff, and communicate regularly with management and clients. Will be required to support proposals and client development.
The Sr Project Manager/Principal Archeologist will have demonstrated skills in CRM, including supervisory experience on Phase I, II, and III projects.
This position will require the individual to serve as a Principal Investigator and/or Project Manager for a wide variety of archaeology and other CRM projects. The successful candidate will report to the Archaeology Team Leader (in Gaithersburg, MD)and supervise staff on a project basis. This individual will be responsible for business development, marketing, client relations/marketing/management.
The Sr Project Manager/Principal Archeologist will manage archaeological investigations, work with our Field and Lab Directors to ensure project requirements are met, and will be a lead or co-author on reports. Will write proposals, market new clients, and participate in general client/business development activities.
Regular interaction with other departments and teams is expected, specifically on proposal/marketing efforts. There will be potential opportunities to work with other URS CRM offices.
