      Location: Guam

      SWCA Environmental Consultants is an employee-owned company of cultural and natural resource scientists and planners. Our professionals specialize in natural and cultural resource management, sustainability services, environmental planning, and regulatory compliance.
      Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, SWCA has offices throughout the West, Pacific Northwest, and Pacific Islands. Since 1981, SWCA has achieved a national reputation for providing its clients with professional integrity as well as creative solutions based on sound science. SWCA ranks among Engineering News-Record's Top 200 Environmental Firms. We offer an informal, team-oriented work environment, competitive salaries, and a competitive benefits package, including a stock ownership plan.
      SWCA is actively seeking to fill one or more temporary Cultural Resources Technician positions in our Guam office. These positions are hourly and may work up to 40 hours or more per week depending on workload. Overtime is possible. Part-time positions may be possible, depending on our projects. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience. The possibility exists for promotion into full-time, benefited positions. SWCA will not offer transportation to and from Guam, housing, or per diem assistance with these positions.

      Responsibilities of a Field Technician include:
      Work in the field under the supervision of Field Supervisors conducting archaeological fieldwork;
      Conduct archaeological monitoring, survey, testing and data recovery;
      Walk a minimum of 6-9 miles per day conducting archaeological survey;
      Demonstrate ability to contribute to team efforts during cultural resources field and lab work;
      Take initiative, resolve problems, and create improved procedures to assure tasks are completed in the most effective manner;

      A Bachelor's Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field is preferable. Field school or equivalent experience is also minimally required. Knowledge and experience with archaeological survey and excavation techniques and methodology is required. Candidates must be able to travel, conduct fieldwork for long hours (often under very hot and humid conditions, often in thick jungle and rugged terrain), and be able to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Travel time from the Guam office to the project area is paid.

      How to Apply:
      Applicants will be accepted until the position has been filled. Please send a cover letter, your resume and at least three (3) professional references to:
