      TRC Environmental Corporation is soliciting resumes for a highly motivated and experienced Project Archaeologist (Prehistoric) to fill a permanent, full-time position in the Austin, Texas, office. Applicants must have an M.A. degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline and have experience in performing and supervising archaeological survey, testing, and/or data recovery projects.

      Qualified applicants will exhibit leadership qualities and be able to oversee archaeological field crews; make good tactical decisions in the field; ensure the quality of data, fieldwork, and paperwork; manage and organize information and tasks effectively; perform background research; process artifacts in a laboratory setting; write technical reports meeting the requirements of historic preservation legislation; complete tasks in a timely fashion; and coordinate with project managers regarding project requirements and expectations. Some experience in Texas, Southwest, or Plains archaeology is preferred, though not required.

      Artifact analysis and technical writing experience will be strongly considered. Some experience or familiarity with the Section 106 process and state and federal historic preservation laws is preferred, though not required. Applicants must be willing to travel, have excellent communication skills, and work well on a team and individually. This position will involve data analysis and technical writing, so applicants should be prepared to submit writing samples upon request (preferably samples of cultural resource management documentation and/or academic publications demonstrating strong writing skills and the ability to conduct research).

      TRC offers competitive salaries based on experience and qualifications and a full benefits package, including health insurance, paid holiday and vacation time, and 401(k). Successful candidates will be required to sign a Drug and Alcohol Policy statement and may be asked to submit to random drug testing.
