      Position Openings - Senior Archaeologist and Archaeologist –TRC’s North Carolina Office

      TRC Garrow Associates (TRC) has openings for a Senior Archaeologist and an Archaeologist in our Durham (NC) office.

      We are seeking a Senior Archaeologist with an advanced degree and supervisory experience to work as a Principal Investigator/Project Director on survey, testing, and data recovery projects in North Carolina and throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This individual should have considerable field, lab, analytical, and reporting experience, including at least two years spent in supervisory roles and demonstrated ability in completing reports. He or she should have research interests in the Southeast or Mid-Atlantic region, and be interested in conducting quality archaeological work within a CRM setting. He or she will be expected to become familiar with all aspects of CRM, including effective fiscal and personnel management, marketing and managing a diverse client base, working with the appropriate federal, state, and tribal regulators, and negotiating agreements and contracts. Salary range is from $33 to $45K, depending on qualifications.

      We are also seeking an Archaeologist to work as an Assistant Field Director Crew Chief on long- and short-term survey, testing, and data recovery projects. This individual should have field, lab, and analytical experience, although an advanced degree is not necessary. He or she should have interest and previous experience in Southeastern or Mid-Atlantic archaeology, and experience in writing and long-term interest in CRM are helpful. Salary range is from $27 to $35K, depending on qualifications.

      Both positions require residence in the Chapel Hill/Durham area and willingness and availability to travel. These are full time permanent positions with a 401(k) program, medical and dental benefits, and paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation.
