      Notice this microscope does not have crosshairs, but easily added,
      see below.

      I used a fine hair, child or an old person (Me), and blackened with
      a marker, worked great. mounted the cross hair in a movable THIN
      BRASS sleeve to assist in focusing it, then a dab of glue, TO fix it
      in place..
