      US blogger jailed in Singapore

Blogger and US citizen, Gopalan Nair, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment for "insulting" a High Court Judge. A former Singaporean, Mr Nair had returned to Singapore to observe a court hearing in which Mr Lee Kuan Yew and his son, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong had sued the Singapore Democratic Party and its leaders Chee Soon Juan.

Mr Nair accused the presiding Judge Belinda Ang for "prostituting herself" and being an employee of Lee Kuan Yew instead of exercising her role as an independent judge.
