Radical Women is asking grass roots pressure be put on the US government. They are asking everyone to call the president to not cut funding for social services and other basic needs.
Call now to stop giveaways from Social Security and a continued free ride to the rich!
President Obama is caving to Republican demands in "Fiscal Cliff" negotiations. According to this morning's Washington Post: "Obama also gave ground on a key Republican demand applying a less-generous measure of inflation across the federal government. That change would save about $225 billion over the next decade, with more than half the savings coming from smaller cost-of-living increases for Social Security beneficiaries." Obama's plan also includes another $975 billion in unspecified cuts! At the same time, the President's new proposal continues the Bush era tax cuts for those with income over $250,000 per year, applying higher tax rates only to households who earn $400,000 per year or more.
Call President Obama at the White House comment line 202-456-1111 or the switchboard 202-456-1414.
Call your U.S. Senators and your Congressional Representative at 1-888-659-9401.
Don't let the president or congress get away with balancing the federal budget on the backs of the most vulnerable!
It's time to stop stealing from the needy and tax the wealthy. According to the New York Times, the vast majority of taxpayers lost income over recent years but the top 1% of one-percenters gained an average of $4.2 million per household. Meanwhile, 26 major corporations paid no federal income taxes in the last 4 years while making billions in profits. Enough!
