Film showing of Attica in New York City
- Hi folks,
In the spirit of sharing radical events that are happening world wide, this one is a film showing about prisoners revolting against abuse.
Hope to see you this Friday, the 18, at Freedom Hall for the Reel Resistance screening of "Attica."
This powerful film tells the story of the 1971 Attica State Prison uprising against inhumane conditions and shows the brutal repression and killing of prisoners and guards by New York State Police. Today this film is relevant and timely especially given the recent hunger strike at California's supermax Pelican State Prison. Discussion of the prison industrial complex and the need for solidarity with those behind bars will follow the film.
