      Dear Friends,
Monday, May 1st, will be the next key date to press for much-
needed improvements for immigrants and all working people.
Coordinators of the massive demonstrations in March and April are
organizing increased protest on May 1. Their call for "No Work, No
School, No Sales, No Buying" on this day seeks to show how the
economy will be affected by one whole day without immigrants and
      their supporters.

Portland's contribution to the Great American Boycott of 2006/el
Gran Paro Americano 2006 will begin at 10am at the Portland State
University South Park Blocks. There is music planned for 10am,
followed by a rally at 11am and the march through downtown at
      12noon.

An "Open the Borders" march contingent is forming to support this
struggle. We'll meet at the Portland State University South Park
Blocks at 11:30am. Look for the "Open the Borders – Amnesty Now!"
banner or call 503-516-2151 to meet up. The march begins at 12noon.

Let May 1st, the International Workers' Holiday, be a start of new
labor militancy. Demand amnesty for undocumented workers, open
borders, decent wages and respect for all. For more information about
the May 1 "day without an immigrant" set your browser to

      call 503-240-4462 or email fsp@....

      In struggle,
