An online support group for folks living in and around Seattle, Washington, USA, (including their caregivers and significant others) who are disabled and isolated by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and other poorly understood disabling illnesses such as fibromyalgia, orthostatic intolerance, multiple chemical sensitivity, etc.
Our primary focus is on sharing with each other our experiences in finding ways to live better more fulfilling lives in spite of the limitations imposed on us by chronic illness. And providing each other with emotional and social support in coping with an illness that can make us feel so isolated.
Our group is not focused on finding a cure, or arguing about CFS research or politics. There are lots of online groups hosting those kinds of discussions. If that's what you're looking for, a good place to start would be the Phoenix Rising Forums. (If you are interested in experimental treatments for CFS, our SeattleCFS group member Ken Lassessen hosts 2 YahooGroups: CFSFMExperimental and CFSProtocol where members may share their experiences using experimental treatments).
Instead, our focus is on practical things we can do right here and now to improve the quality of our day-to-day lives.
