A heads-up from the State Patrol
Starting today the Washington State Patrol will be enforcing a new law that requires motorists to slow down or move over when there are emergency vehicles (police, fire, ambulance) and transportation department response vehicles on the shoulder of a state roadway with their lights activated. The law went into effect on January 1; the first 90 days were considered an opportunity to educate drivers. Tickets will now be issued to violators. Here is a link to more information about the new law.
