- 8J2BSJ - Japanese Jamboree Station Information
Scout Association of Japan is hosting its national Jamboree (15th Nippon Jamboree) this summer from August 2nd to August 8th, 2010.
The location is Asagiri Plateau, Shizuoka, Japan which is near the foot of Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, and it is also the location where 13th World Scout Jamboree was held in 1971.
JA1YSS - Nippon Boy Scout Amateur Radio Club - is going to operate special callsign 8J2BSJ during the Jamboree.
Maximum power licensed to this station is 200W.
Please note that this station will be operated by Scouts and Scouters on the Jamboree site visiting the station during their free time, so the station may not be on the air constantly. Also, night time operation is not scheduled as of this time. There is no information about VoIP operation, so I think the operation is purely HF to UHF.

Just in case you're wondering what Nippon means: "Japan" is called "Nippon" in Japanese.
